Clean Energy

Wind to Hydrogen Integration

Warradarge Energy combines renewable energy generation with hydrogen production to create an integrated renewable energy system. Tapping into wind and solar assets provide a clean power foundation for our hydrogen production, creating a complete renewable energy value chain.

Behind-the-meter Power

We are working to establish behind-the-meter power supply agreements from operational Wind Farms. This arrangement will provide:

  • Direct connection: Hydrogen production facilities located atb the wind farm, powered by the wind farm
  • High capacity factor: capable of running an electrolyser at a 80% utilisation for Stage 1a hydrogen production
  • Cost efficiency: Eliminating grid connection and transmission costs
  • Green certification: Complete traceability of renewable energy for hydrogen production

Stage 2:

Industrial-scale production enabling green steel

Stage 1:

198MW expansion serving broader applications

Stage 1a:

 26MW facility serving transport sector

Strategic Land Holdings

Beyond the existing and operating wind farms, we have secured significant land assets for future renewable energy development:

  • Total land access: Over 16,000 hectares in Western Australia's Mid-West
  • High Quality Wind: average wind speed of over 9m/s
  • Access to Infrastructure: onsite 330kV power line and terminal substations

Integrated Energy Hub

Our vision extends beyond standalone wind generation to create an integrated energy hub that connects:

  • Large-scale wind and solar generation
  • Green hydrogen production
  • Energy storage capabilities
  • Grid connection via the 330kV SWIS network

Stage 2 Wind Farm

The site is suitable for a large scale wind and solar development on the strategic land holdings. Key elements include:

  • Development capacity: Potential for over 980MW of wind generation
  • Solar potential: More than 2GW of solar capacity available on site
  • Foundation Renewable Energy Supply: Wind and solar generation will primarily supply the hydrogen plant, withe excess generation spilled to grid

Future Development

Strategic Location

The Warradarge site offers exceptional advantages for renewable energy development:

  • Premium wind resource: Diurnal wind patterns create consistent generation profiles
  • Solar complementarity: Strong solar resource complements wind generation patterns
  • Grid connection: Direct access to the 330kV Eneabba Terminal
  • Infrastructure proximity:
    • 4km to rail (ARC Infrastructure)
    • Onsite access to natural gas pipelines (DBNGP & Parmelia Pipeline)
    • Adjacent to Brand Highway (main freight route between Geraldton and Perth)

Environmental and Economic Benefits

Our integrated energy generation approach delivers significant benefits:

  • Carbon-free hydrogen: Zero emissions throughout the production process
  • Regional development: Creating jobs and economic activity in Western Australia's Mid-West
  • Energy independence: Reducing reliance on imported fuels
  • Value-added production: Transforming renewable energy into transportable, storable fuel
