Clean Energy

Wind to Hydrogen Integration

Warradarge Energy combines wind power generation with hydrogen production to create an integrated renewable energy system. Our partnership in the operational Warradarge Wind Farm provides the clean power foundation for our hydrogen production, creating a complete renewable energy value chain.

Behind-the-meter Power Offtake

Through our partnership with Bright Energy Investments, we have secured a Power Purchase Agreement and Term Sheet for up to 32MW of behind-the-meter power from the Warradarge Wind Farm. This arrangement provides:

  • Direct connection: Hydrogen production facilities located adjacent to the wind farm
  • High capacity factor: Achieving 80% utilisation for Stage 1a hydrogen production
  • Cost efficiency: Eliminating grid connection and transmission costs
  • Green certification: Complete traceability of renewable energy for hydrogen production

Warradarge Wind Farm

  • Current capacity: 180MW
  • Expansion underway: Increasing to 288MW
  • Capacity factor: Consistently exceeds 50%, ranking among Australia's top wind resources
  • Annual generation: Approximately 740GWh, enough to power 200,000 Western Australian homes
  • Location: Mid-West region of Western Australia, 20km south of Eneabba

Stage 2:

Industrial-scale production enabling green steel

Stage 1:

198MW expansion serving broader applications

Stage 1a:

 26MW facility serving transport sector

Strategic Land Holdings

Beyond our current wind farm partnership, we have secured significant land assets for future renewable energy development:

  • Total land access: Over 16,000 hectares in Western Australia's Mid-West

Integrated Energy Hub

Our vision extends beyond standalone wind generation to create an integrated energy hub that connects:

  • Large-scale wind and solar generation
  • Green hydrogen production
  • Energy storage capabilities
  • Grid connection via the 330kV SWIS network

Warradarge South Wind Farm

We have established a Development Options Agreement with a developer for the Warradarge South to develop the Warradarge South Wind Farm on our strategic land holdings. Key elements include:

  • Development capacity: Potential for over 980MW of wind generation
  • Solar potential: More than 2GW of solar capacity available on site
  • First right to PPA: Warradarge Energy has secured the first right to power purchase agreements
  • Project participation options: Rights to purchase a 50% stake at key development milestones

Future Development

Strategic Location

The Warradarge site offers exceptional advantages for renewable energy development:

  • Premium wind resource: Diurnal wind patterns create consistent generation profiles
  • Solar complementarity: Strong solar resource complements wind generation patterns
  • Grid connection: Direct access to the 330kV Eneabba Terminal
  • Infrastructure proximity:
    • 4km to rail (ARC Infrastructure)
    • Onsite access to natural gas pipelines (DBNGP & Parmelia Pipeline)
    • Adjacent to Brand Highway (main freight route between Geraldton and Perth)

Environmental and Economic Benefits

Our integrated energy generation approach delivers significant benefits:

  • Carbon-free hydrogen: Zero emissions throughout the production process
  • Regional development: Creating jobs and economic activity in Western Australia's Mid-West
  • Energy independence: Reducing reliance on imported fuels
  • Value-added production: Transforming renewable energy into transportable, storable fuel
